What series production means for insulation parts

In series production a fixed part repeats in defined lots. Unlike a prototype or a small series, the material, tooling, cut and inspection plan are set. Across the run we hold consistency through several levers:

  • A fixed material specification with type, thickness and thermal class, documented per batch.
  • Incoming material inspection, so a new roll does not silently change dimension or behaviour.
  • Maintained tools and blades, because a dull blade frays thin film.
  • Sample inspection to a fixed plan, feeding back into production on any deviation.

For thin films we run the blade shaft up slowly, otherwise the edge frays. Details like these decide whether the thousandth part still looks like the first. That is experience built over years on specific materials.

Processes in the series

Which process carries the series depends on geometry, material and quantity. Three routes cover the bulk of insulation parts.

  1. Roll slitting divides wide material webs into narrow rolls and strips. Tool-free, ideal for running series with defined slit widths.
  2. Stamping produces stamped parts with contours, holes and cut-outs via a tool. The tool is a one-off cost but pays off over the series and, at high volumes, delivers the lowest unit price.
  3. Converting bundles several steps: cutting, stamping, laminating, contouring, marking and packaging, until the part arrives ready to fit at the customer.

Logistics in the series

A series is only well planned when the resupply meets demand without clogging the warehouse or stalling lines. We match the lot size to your consumption, not to our machine utilisation. Two stock concepts smooth the flow particularly well.

  • With a Kanban stock a defined minimum level triggers the resupply automatically. You call off, we produce against consumption.
  • With a consignment warehouse the goods sit at your site but remain our property until withdrawal. This lowers your tied-up capital and secures availability.

Quality and traceability

Over a long series you must know which lot came from which material batch. If a part stands out at the customer, clean traceability narrows down the affected lot instead of putting the whole delivery in question. We document material batch, lot number and inspection result, so every part stays traceable to its origin.

The approval sample stays the benchmark for the entire run. If anything changes in the material, the drawing or the process, a new sampling runs before the series continues. That keeps consistency demonstrable, not merely claimed.
