About Us: Expertise in Electrical Insulation Parts Since 1959

Gotthardt Isolierteile GmbH (GOBA) is an owner-managed family business based in Baltmannsweiler, Baden-Wuerttemberg. Since its founding in 1959, GOBA has been developing and manufacturing customer-specific electrical insulation parts, stamped parts and film cuts for industrial applications with high electrical, thermal and mechanical requirements.

GOBA operates equally as a manufacturer of insulation parts and as a technical converter of web-form materials. The company's approach is focused on long-term partnerships, technical stability and reproducible quality.

Manufacturing Focus and Capabilities

GOBA processes technical insulating materials and films into function-critical components for series and special applications. Manufacturing is designed for high variety while maintaining consistent process reliability.

The range of services includes:

  • Stamped and molded parts from electrical insulating materials
  • Insulation parts for electric motors, generators and transformers
  • Bent and folded parts with defined bend lines
  • Roll slitting as well as longitudinal and cross cutting
  • Kiss-cut, stacking, bundling and customer-specific packaging

GOBA handles lot sizes from 1 to 100,000,000 pieces, serving prototypes, pre-series and large-scale production equally.

Materials and Material Expertise

GOBA processes a broad spectrum of web-form electrical insulating materials. Material selection is application-specific and guided by electrical characteristics, temperature classes, mechanical load capacity and regulatory requirements.

Typical material groups include:

  • Polyester films (PET)
  • Aramid papers
  • Polyimide films
  • Technical laminates such as DMD or NMN
  • Glass fiber and mica materials

GOBA processes approximately 1,000 tons of web-form materials per year.

Manufacturing Processes and Infrastructure

Production takes place at the Baltmannsweiler site on approximately 2,500 square meters of manufacturing space. Processes are designed for short lead times, clean material handling and reproducible results.

Key manufacturing steps include:

  • Stamping with steel rule and solid steel tooling
  • Bending and creasing processes for defined shaping
  • Precision cutting and packaging of roll stock
  • Series production with established inspection and release processes

The combination of technical experience and standardized workflows enables high delivery reliability even for complex geometries.

Industries and Application Areas

GOBA supplies industrial sectors where electrical insulation is safety- and function-critical.

These include:

  • E-Mobility
  • Electric motors and generators
  • Transformers and power engineering
  • Household appliances
  • Ventilation and climate technology
  • Printing and office technology
  • Telecommunications

The components serve purposes including electrical separation, touch protection, mechanical fixation and thermal insulation.

Quality, Environment and Certification

GOBA operates an integrated management system and is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.

  • DIN EN ISO 9001 ensures consistent quality of products and processes.
  • DIN EN ISO 14001 provides the framework for systematic and responsible handling of resources and environmental aspects.

Quality assurance and environmental management are integral parts of all manufacturing stages, from material inspection to series release.

Working Approach and Collaboration

GOBA works in a solution-oriented and project-based manner. Technical requirements are analyzed together with the customer before material, manufacturing process and delivery form are determined.

  • Technical consultation before production start
  • Clear definition of specifications and tolerances
  • Short response times
  • Reliable series supply

Inquiries are typically processed within 24 hours on business days.

Team and Responsibility

At the Baltmannsweiler site, GOBA employs approximately 25 staff members. The professional expertise, process reliability and material knowledge are based on many years of experience and stable teams.

GOBA sees itself as a regionally rooted company with responsibility for sustainable employment and continuous development.

History and Development

Since 1959, GOBA has stood for technical continuity. A significant milestone was the year 2015. In this context, structures, processes and manufacturing priorities were strategically developed to meet growing demands for product variety, lot size flexibility and industrial series capability. Naturally, we continue to work closely with our partner for specialty parts, Hauler und Hermann.

This development created the foundation for today's capabilities as a manufacturer and converter of electrical insulation parts and enables GOBA to reliably serve dynamic market requirements in electrical engineering, power engineering and mobility.
